PROJECTILE, 155MM, HE - M864E2
LOADING, ASSEMBLING AND PACKING
Reactivated 16 March 2010 and may be used for new and
existing designs and acquisitions.
This specification is approved for use by the U.S. Army Armament Research,
Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), and is available for use by all
Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.

SCOPE
1.1
Scope. This specification covers the loading, assembling and packing for
the projectile, 155MM, HE: M864E2. The M864E2 cargo is the M1162 Pyrotechnic
Self-Destruct Fuze (p-SDF) designed to minimize battlefield duds by adding self-destruct
capability to the current Dual Purpose Improved Conventional Munitions (DPICM)
M42/M46 grenade.
